Runanthropic is currently looking to hire for the following position:
Marketing, Sponsorship, and Business Development Intern
Runanthropic is a community-based, volunteer run sporting and athletic organization. Our mission is to promote an interest in athletics, sports and recreation, and to coordinate and organize running events (5K, 10K, Virtual events, etc.) which raise money for charity. Runanthropic will also support those with a common interest in the sport of running by providing a community-based forum for those engaged in or interested running and raising money for charity. Runanthropic is an incorporated not-for-profit organization. Runanthropic achieves its goals by organizing and operating its signature events the Art In Motion 10K/5K/2K and The Great Neighbourhood Challenge.
While working directly with and under the guidance of the Race Director (and occasionally other key volunteers) the successful candidate will:
· Help plan an integrative marketing and promotional strategy for Runanthropic and, its constituent events, the Art In Motion 10K/5K/2K (AIM), and The Great Neighbourhood Challenge (TGNC). [Skills development: Teamwork, Communication, Digital Skills, Leadership]
· Plan, create, and help deliver promotional activities for the AIM and TGNC (including but not limited to social media marketing, in person events, traditional ‘postcard’ or ‘flyer’ marketing). [Skills development: Client Service, Teamwork, Communication, Digital Skills, Leadership]
· Create marketing materials for the AIM and TGNC. [Skills development: Teamwork, Communication, Digital Skills, Leadership]
· Plan, and develop a sponsorship strategy that seeks to support the fundraising component of the races. [Skills development: Teamwork, Communication, Digital Skills, Leadership]
· Implement the above Sponsorship plan to source and solicit sponsorships from companies and organizations that have ethical and moral standards in keeping with SickKids, the Toronto Foundation, Runanthropic, AIM, TGNC, and our existing partners and sponsors. [Skills development: Client Service, Teamwork, Communication, Digital Skills, Leadership]
· Help create an “Impact Report” for reporting back to the Runanthropic Board of Directors, Charitable Partners, and Sponsors at the end of the event. [Skills development: Client Service, Teamwork, Communication, Digital Skills, Leadership]
The position is best suited to a post-secondary student who is an outgoing creative thinker and problem solver. You should be tech savvy, interested in sports and athletics, and be community service minded as one of the purposes of Runanthropic is to help raise money for charity.
The position pays $20 per hour for a 35 hour work week and runs for 16 weeks (dependent on funding).
